It uses 8GB of LPDDR4 DRAM (following a roughly 1GB:1TB DRAM-to-NAND ratio) and Samsung V-NAND 4-bit MLC (QLC) as storage media. The drive relies on an Intelligent TurboWrite pseudo-SLC cache to mask QLC latency, making it suited for archival or mass-storage roles where capacity is prioritized over sustained speed. Performance is bimodal: it can saturate the SATA bus during cache-backed bursts but shows reduced throughput during long sequential writes once the SLC cache is exhausted.
