Unlike lower capacities in this series that launched with 7th Generation V-NAND, the 4TB model typically leverages Samsung’s 8th Generation (V8) TLC NAND to achieve higher density on a single-sided PCB. This architecture allows the drive to nearly saturate the PCIe 4.0 bandwidth while maintaining a compact thermal footprint. The Pascal controller introduces hardware automation for data path management, reducing latency and improving random read/write IOPS compared to the preceding Elpis controller.
