SSD Description
The Crucial T700 uses the Phison PS5026-E26 client controller in an early mass-market PCIe 5.0 implementation paired with Micron 232-layer 3D TLC NAND (B58R). It employs an LPDDR4 DRAM cache for address mapping to support NVMe 2.0 low-latency responsiveness. The 1TB variant delivers sequential throughput around 11,700 MB/s read and 9,500 MB/s write, but write performance is slightly constrained versus higher-capacity SKUs due to fewer NAND dies for channel interleaving. The Phison E26 operates at high power, making thermal management the primary operational constraint; without a substantial heatsink the drive can aggressively throttle and reach critical temperatures in passive environments. Firmware updates addressed initial fan-curve behavior and idle power consumption, but active cooling or high-mass motherboard heatsinks remain recommended for sustained performance.
