SSD Description

The Corsair MP600 PRO LPX is a compact, high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD based on the Phison E18 reference design. It uses the Phison PS5018-E18 controller paired with Micron 176-layer 3D TLC NAND and includes a DDR4 DRAM cache for consistent random I/O and reduced latency. The LPX features a factory-applied low-profile aluminum heatsink engineered to fit the PlayStation 5 M.2 expansion bay while remaining compatible with standard PC motherboards, and is designed to fully utilize the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.

Hardware Alternatives

  • Seagate FireCuda 530: Uses the same Controller/NAND combination but often features custom firmware with slightly higher endurance ratings.
  • Kingston KC3000 2000GB: Direct hardware relative offering similar I/O performance, differentiated by thermal solutions and firmware tuning.
  • Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus: Direct hardware relative offering similar I/O performance, differentiated by thermal solutions and firmware tuning.
  • WD Black SN850X 2000GB: Western Digital's proprietary design competing in the same performance tier with different NAND and an in-house controller.
  • Samsung 990 PRO 2000GB: Samsung's proprietary alternative, noted for strong random read IOPS and targeting the same high-end gaming and workstation use.
