The drive pairs this controller with high-density 3D QLC NAND and relies on a large dynamic pseudo-SLC (pSLC) cache to sustain rated write speeds; once that cache is saturated during extended large-file transfers, write throughput drops significantly to native QLC speeds (often below 500 MB/s). The Phison E27T controller is noted for good power efficiency and low thermal output, making the drive suitable for airflow-constrained environments such as laptops or compact builds where sustained write performance is secondary to capacity and burst speed.
