Busy fans with P-series chips
In Notebookcheck’s test of a Core i7-1270P configuration, the fans started more often in everyday use than on the previous generation, because the Balanced and Best Performance modes share the same high power limits. Under sustained load the processor fell to about 18 W after 20 minutes. Only the Best Power Saving mode kept it almost silent, at a large cost in performance. All but one catalogued configuration use the same 28 W P-series processors.
