SSD Description
The Silicon Power XS75 4000GB is a high-density DRAM-less PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive focusing on thermal efficiency and burst throughput. It uses the Maxio MAP1602 controller with YMTC 232-layer 3D TLC NAND and leverages a Host Memory Buffer (HMB) instead of onboard DRAM. The 4TB model is single-sided, runs cooler than the XS70 predecessor, and is suitable for laptops and PlayStation 5 upgrades with restricted airflow. It has a generous SLC cache; sustained writes will fall to native TLC speeds once the cache is saturated, though the 232-layer NAND recovers faster than previous-generation 176-layer flash. Silicon Power has a history of silent component revisions; verify specific batch revisions if needed.

Hardware Alternatives
- Lexar NM790 4000GB: Shares identical hardware architecture and firmware behaviors.
- Acer GM7000 4000GB: Another direct hardware clone offering the same performance profile.
- Addlink S93: Uses the same controller/NAND combination.
- WD Black SN770: A competing DRAM-less design; the XS75 generally outperforms the SN770 in maximum sequential throughput due to higher-layer NAND.
- Samsung 990 EVO 4000GB: Operates in a similar DRAM-less tier but utilizes a proprietary controller and V-NAND.
