The P16 Gen 3 prioritises workstation expansion and professional graphics over light carrying weight. Four memory slots and three SSD positions provide room for larger projects.

    In PCMag’s test of a Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX PRO 5000 unit, the chassis stayed at a comfortable temperature under load, but the fans became loud enough to hear across a living room. It is not a quiet machine for heavy jobs in shared or silent spaces.

SSD slot bandwidth

The three M.2 2280 positions do not have the same interface: one is PCIe 5.0 x4 and two are PCIe 4.0 x4. A Gen 5 SSD fitted in either Gen 4 position runs at the older interface limit.
